Sculpture "Aria"

This 10-meter-high steel sculpture, with its galvanized outer layer, is located beside the M80 speed road in the central Scottish town of Camborold. Its design concept is based on the original name of the town. In Scottish Gaelic, it means "cumer nan allt", which means "convergence of water flow". The two arcs on the sculpture represent the local river, which converges into the town and finally becomes the image of a woman.

She extended her arms towards the center of the town and became a prominent local landmark. The name of "Aria" refers to the suggestions of local female students, and it also links the sculpture with the ancient Roman immigrants in the region. It took 10 months to build the sculpture, which was welded by thousands of small steel parts. On the base, there is also a poem inscribed by the famous Scottish poet Jim Carus. The sculpture was unveiled by Her Royal Highness Princess Royal Highness Princess in early 2011.
